EFD – Externally Fed Rotary Drum Strainer
The EFD Externally Fed Rotary Drum Strainer by Fluiteco is a high-efficiency solution specifically designed for the separation of suspended particles in wastewater. The effluent enters the unit through a dedicated inlet and is evenly distributed across the entire length of the drum. As the drum rotates slowly, the suspended solids are captured on its outer surface, while the filtered water passes through the filtering media and is collected in a tank positioned directly beneath the machine.
The cleaning process is highly effective: the captured waste is continuously transported to the front of the machine and removed by a specialized scraper blade. To ensure peak performance, the drum is maintained in optimal condition through a dual water passage system and integrated high-pressure washing. The filtration media is constructed from stainless steel wedge wire profiles, offering superior resistance to clogging and high precision in solid-liquid separation.
Design flexibility is a cornerstone of the EFD series. The machine is available in a wide range of drum diameters and lengths, allowing it to be perfectly tailored to the specific flow requirements and space constraints of the treatment plant. Entirely constructed from AISI 304 or 316 stainless steel, it is built to withstand aggressive industrial and municipal environments, ensuring long-term durability and resistance to corrosion.
The Fluiteco design includes several advanced features to enhance operational reliability. A key element is the HDPE bumper/seal system, which protects the drum and refines the filtration process by preventing bypass. Maintenance is simplified through easily accessible lubrication points, and for installations in extreme climates, optional thermal insulation is available. The EFD represents a fully customizable, reliable, and low-maintenance solution for fine screening.
