POLYSKID – Polymer Preparation and Dynamic Sludge Mixing System

The POLYSKID represents a fundamental technological unit for the automated management of chemical reagents required in sludge treatment. This integrated system is engineered to guarantee optimal polymer activation and mixing, ensuring the flocculant solution is always ready at the correct concentration to maximize downstream mechanical dewatering efficiency.

Architecture and Mixing Process

The entire plant is built on a compact stainless steel frame that integrates several functional chambers for a smooth, uninterrupted process. The operational cycle begins in the Emulsion Storage Tank (ET), where a float level sensor constantly monitors product presence before the dedicated Emulsion Pump (EP) transfers it to the next stage.

The heart of the system is the Dilution Tank (DT), where the emulsion meets mains water regulated by a solenoid valve and a flow meter. During this phase, a continuously running mechanical mixer ensures perfect homogenization of the mixture. Volume management is handled by a three-rod loading and unloading probe system that automatically regulates filling cycles, ensuring continuous product availability.

Sludge Conditioning and Safety

Once prepared, the diluted solution is sent via the Dilution Pump (DP) to the Flocculator Reactor (FLR). In this final chamber, the crucial encounter between the polymer and raw sludge takes place: a dedicated agitator promotes the formation of solid flakes, preparing the material for final pressing.

Operational safety is guaranteed by pressure and high-level sensors installed on the FLR. These communicate directly with the control panel to immediately stop pumping in the event of anomalies or overfilling, preventing any product spillage.

Integration and Industrial Versatility

The POLYSKID is designed to work in total synchrony with the dewatering line, specifically with the SD Sludge Screw Press. Thanks to advanced interlock logic, the system starts polymer dosing and diluted solution pumping only when the sludge feed pump is active, optimizing consumption and preventing reagent waste.

The construction, entirely in AISI 304L or 316L stainless steel, combined with high-quality components—such as precision gearmotors for the agitators and high-accuracy sensors—makes this machine a reference standard for reliability and durability in the most demanding industrial environments.
