SAU – Septic Pretreatment Unit
The Septic Pretreatment Unit (SAU) represents the most technologically advanced and customizable solution for managing wastewater from septage trucks. Developed by Fluiteco, this unit is designed to provide excellent performance in solid-liquid separation while ensuring the durability and structural resistance that characterize our products. The system is engineered to handle high organic loads through an automated process that ensures efficiency and significant odor reduction.

Configurations and Operational Versatility
The SAU series has been designed with a modular approach to adapt to various plant requirements, consisting of main variants that scale based on the complexity of the treatment required. The SAU1 version is the first stage of the series and consists of a screw screen installed in a dedicated tank, equipped with a “Perrot” DN100 rapid connection and a ball valve with an electrical connection. The screw screen basket captures organic particles, transporting them upwards for compaction and discharge, while a continuous washing system prevents material buildup. The SAU2 and SAU3 variants further evolve the process by integrating two or three combined treatment stages, respectively. In these units, after coarse filtration, the water settles in a main tank where finer residues are collected and extracted by a dedicated transport screw, following an operating principle similar to that of the WAU series.
Key Features of the Fluiteco Design
The Fluiteco design for the SAU series is distinguished by its robustness and design, offering a system that can be entirely manufactured in 304L, 316L, Duplex, or Super Duplex stainless steel. The reliability of the system is guaranteed by a careful selection of materials, with screws available in various metal alloys paired with wear-resistant liners in HDPE, Hardox, or stainless steel to ensure long-lasting performance even under the most demanding operating conditions.
Separation efficiency is maximized through tank sections optimized to balance flow and promote solids sedimentation. Operational safety is supported by screw rotation sensors and the availability of a gas-tight version for operations in total isolation. For installations in harsh climates, Fluiteco provides thermal insulation systems with heat tracing wire, while service continuity is protected by the option to include a bypass box with a manual bar screen. Finally, the machine body is designed with strategic inspection points to make every maintenance and verification intervention quick and accessible, consolidating the SAU series as a complete and versatile mechanical pretreatment station.
