The SDH – Sludge Cleaner is a compact and robust machine developed for the pretreatment of municipal and industrial sludge. Its primary function is the removal of solid contaminants such as plastics, fibers, and metals—an essential step before sludge enters dewatering phases. This not only improves the final disposal of sludge but also plays a critical role in protecting downstream equipment such as screw presses, centrifuges, belt presses, and pumps, thereby optimizing overall process efficiency.
Thanks to its pressurized horizontal design, the SDH introduces sludge directly into a filtration chamber equipped with mesh sizes ranging from 1 to 12 mm. Within this section, a specially designed screw conveyor moves the captured solids toward a compaction chamber. Here, the separated materials undergo mechanical dewatering, achieving a high dry matter content ranging between 30% and 45%. This phase is crucial for significantly reducing both the volume and disposal costs of screenings.
Once cleaned, the sludge is sent directly to the next treatment stages without requiring additional pumping. This feature makes the machine exceptionally efficient, even when handling high-density sludge. Constructed entirely in AISI 304/316 stainless steel, the SDH guarantees minimal maintenance requirements and very low energy consumption.
The SDH is an ideal solution for a variety of settings, including sludge treatment plants, anaerobic digesters, composting facilities, and even food processing industries.
Available in multiple models with various flow rates—up to 100 m³/h—the SDH proves to be the perfect choice for those seeking a machine that is robust, compact, and highly efficient. Its versatility also makes it particularly suitable for applications requiring the removal of microplastics or abrasive materials.
